woodford folk festival

woodford is a town north west of brisbane and every year they hold a festival from the 26th Dec to the new year. i was lucky to get a spot volunteering. i arrived on the 17th and was handed a whipper snipper and instructed to mow as much grass as i could before it starts.

i was in a team of 7 and every morning we'd wake up at 5 to mow until the early afternoon, breakfast and lunch provided..

it was a nice way to do it because you meet a lot of people.. many were doing similar things to me... a lot of backpackers and a lot of aussies, some travelling, some following festivals, some looking for free tickets and food..

i enjoyed the set up period.. as you can imagine things changed quite dramatically when 120,000 people started filing through the gates when the festival opened..

the festival itself was quite awesome, a lot of work goes into it, particularly the bamboo structures which are built by a specialist team months before..

great colors and decor and theme

i dont really remember doing much, most of the time i was hanging out with my morris dancing friends..
